Cleveland fine crafter featured on the HGTV show Crafters Coast to Coast Episode #253.
Cleveland, Ohio; May 24 2005 – Abbott Glass Designs artist Katherine Abbott recently recorded a television segment to air on HGTV. Tune in to Crafters Coast to Coast on June 9, at 12:00 pm and again at 5:00pm, as Katherine demonstrates how she uses a torch and rods of glass to make beads and design them into her signature mermaid necklace strung on hand dyed silk ribbon. She also demonstrates her wacky one-eyed alien bead. Watch as red-hot glass emerges from the flame and is crafted into stunning miniature glass works of art.
Filmed in her studio & home in Cleveland Heights, Katherine discusses the art of glass bead making and gives a quick lesson in working in the molten medium. According to Katherine, “being able to show people how I go about making beads and designing them into wearable works of art on a show dedicated to fine crafters is an amazing opportunity to share this art form with people all over the country.”
